Parkway hearing scheduled

LECANTO -- The Florida Turnpike Enterprise plans a "scoping session" at 1:30 p.m. Thursday for local, state and federal agencies to raise concerns about possible paths for Suncoast Parkway 2. The meeting, open to the public, will be in Room 166 of the Lecanto Government Building, 3600 W Sovereign Path, Lecanto.

Traffic signal approved

INVERNESS -- The County Commission on Tuesday approved plans for a traffic signal at Annapolis Avenue and County Road 486, as a consultant recommended. The signal will be added next year when the county widens that stretch of CR 486 to four lanes.
