By Times staff writers Official to appeal cable company's tax victoryINVERNESS -- Still locked in a dispute over how much Time Warner Cable owes in taxes, Property Appraiser Ron Schultz filed a notice this week of his intent to appeal the cable company's court victory last month. Circuit Judge Patricia Thomas ruled July 2 that Schultz had overestimated Time Warner's local holdings from 1994 to 1999 using an appraisal method that the state Supreme Court declared unconstitutional. Schultz has defended his appraisal methods, and says Time Warner owes an extra $2-million in taxes for the years in question. Schultz's attorney, Denise Lyn, plans to file a detailed brief in the coming weeks outlining the argument for appeal.
