The Barrio Latino Commission on Tuesday delayed a decision on McDonald's request to build a store at the old Hardee's site on 13th Avenue and 21st Street.
Commission member Ken Garcia sought to deny the chain's plans for the drive-through, but McDonald's representatives instead asked for more time to revise the drawings.
Commissioners said they wanted the store closer to the street to give it more of an urban feel. Officials have said the restaurant must blend with Ybor's historic architecture.
The board postponed the request until Aug. 20.
