    EMS administrator wins state award

    Chuck Kearns, administrator of Pinellas County Emergency Medical Services, has been named the EMS Administrator of the Year by the Florida Association of County Emergency Medical Services. Kearns "serves as a genuine example of a dedicated individual with positive energy and tremendous initiative," the group said.

    Tarpon man faces pornography charges

    CLEARWATER -- A Tarpon Springs man was arrested Thursday evening when technicians at CompUSA, 23656 U.S. 19 N, found child pornography on his broken computer, Clearwater police officials said. Darill Wilson, 40, was charged with four counts of possession of child pornography, police said. Police said Wilson admitted downloading pornographic pictures involving children from the Internet. Police have impounded the computer. They will work with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to categorize the images. Wilson was being held at Pinellas County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
