Home school group provides support
By Times staff HOME EDUCATIONFamilies interested in educating their children at home may get assistance from a support network of Hernando County's home school families known as Home Circle. The group has regular meetings on the second Tuesday of each month (from August through May) at First Baptist Church, 420 Howell Ave. in Brooksville. The first meeting is Aug. 13. The meetings typically begin at 6:30 p.m. with an informative talk for new home school parents. The regular program starts at 7 p.m. The meeting is for adults only, though nursing infants are welcome. Due to the busy holiday season, Home Circle does not meet in December. Aside from the meetings, information about home education is available by calling Home Circle at 796-3050. Families who choose to educate their children at home must register with the Hernando County School District. For information, call the district's office of student services at 797-7008.
