Mariner DH ties mark with three sacrifice flies

SEATTLE -- Mariners designate hitter Edgar Martinez tied the major-league record for sacrifice flies in a game with three in his first three at-bats against the Indians on Saturday.

He is the 11th player to hit three sacrifice flies in a game and the seventh in the American League. The last to do it was Juan Gonzalez with Texas on July 3, 1999.
