Truck crash sends two to hospitalBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published August 7, 2002 Two people were sent by helicopter to a Tampa hospital Tuesday after their blue Chevrolet truck ran into a large stump off Powell Road south of Brooksville, authorities said. The Florida Highway Patrol said Rebecca Kelly, 21, was traveling east on Powell Road with a man identified as Robert Ritch. The FHP could provide no addresses on Tuesday. The FHP said it appeared that the truck lost control while rounding a curve and slammed into a large tree trunk near Saturn Road. A spokeswoman at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa said Kelly remained in the emergency room late Tuesday. Information on the victims' conditions was not available.
