GULFPORT -- Florida will match up against Virginia today in the first semifinal at the Southeast Regional tournament.
Virginia dropped a thrilling 5-4 decision to North Carolina on Wednesday. The game was delayed 1 hour, 30 minutes, because of rain.
David Morgan hit a two-run home run to left-centerfield in the fifth to put North Carolina ahead 4-2. But Virginia answered back with two runs in the bottom of the inning when Neil Odell hit his second home run of the tournament.
A sacrifice fly by North Carolina's Chris Sanders in the bottom of the sixth chased home Robbie Scott with the winning run.
North Carolina will face Alabama in the second semifinal, which knocked off Georgia 6-5.
Both teams finished round-robin play with identical records, but Alabama's win over Georgia in head-to-head play broke the tie. Alabama also allowed fewer runs per defensive inning than Georgia.
Joey Keyser and Chad Robinson each had home runs for Alabama.
