By Times staff writer Two-day job fair set at county fairgroundsBROOKSVILLE -- The seventh annual Hernando County Job Fair will be Sept. 27 and 28 in McKethan Auditorium at the Hernando County Fairgrounds, 6436 S Broad St. The fair will include more than 30 of the county's largest employers. More than 250 job openings representing more than 100 area employers will be featured during the event. The job fair will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Sept. 27 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 28. Latin American group announces eventsSPRING HILL -- The Latin American Civic and Cultural Association will host the following events: -- Scholarship Committee "Carrabba's Italian Grill" Dinner Dance, 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, SNPJ Hall, 13380 County Line Road. Springstead adult classes to start in SeptemberSPRING HILL -- The Springstead Adult Education Department still has openings in the following classes to begin in September: Basic drawing, watercolors, oil painting, woodworking, beginning basketry, dance exercise, gemology, accessing the Internet and CAD drafting. Logo designs sought for 2003 Swamp FestivalWeeki Wachee Swamp Festival organizers have begun the art contest to choose the design for next year's T-shirt and event logo. The winner will receive $100, with second place awarded $75 and third place $50. Contest rules require the art design to feature a mother and baby manatee, which will be the 2003 wildlife mascot. Subjects may be included to reflect the swamp theme of the event. The words, "Swamp Fest, Weeki Wachee, FL" and the year (2003) should be included in the design. Entries must be in black and white, camera-ready and of reasonable size and shape for T-shirt placement (approximately to fit an 81/2- by 11-inch standard sheet of paper). The 2003 festival will be the 10th anniversary of Swamp Fest. Entries must be submitted no later than Sept. 30 to Audrey Holley, 7242 Wimberly Court, Weeki Wachee, FL 34607.
