Big Macs are a step closer to being served in Ybor City.
With little discussion, the Barrio Latino Commission on Tuesday unanimously approved plans for a drive-through McDonald's at the old Hardee's site on 13th Avenue and 21st Street.
The proposal still must be approved by the City Council but "this is probably the biggest hurdle," said Del Acosta, Tampa's administrator for architectural review.
McDonald's representatives agreed to place the building closer to the street, in keeping with Ybor's historic architecture and the commission's wishes.
