Seniors in Service of Tampa Bay, Inc., invites all seniors to "Meet the Candidates" for the Hillsborough County Commission on Sept. 17 during its annual Community Day at the University Area Community Center, 14013 N 22nd St. in Tampa. Doors open at 10 a.m., at which time Pam Ioria, Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections will discuss the new voting machines; at 10:45 a.m. each candidate will have oneminute to speak, followed by a question and answer session. Retired educators meet in Largo Sept. 23

AARP triathlon scheduled Nov. 17

Seniors are invited to participate in the AARP's Triumph Classic at 8 a.m. Nov. 17. This short course triathlon includes a 1/4-mile swim, 12.4-mile bike ride and a 3.1-mile run/walk. To help participants prepare for the event, a classroom study training program begins at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 25 at Bill Jackson Shop for Adventure, 9501 U.S. 19 N, Pinellas Park. Physical practice sessions begin at 8 a.m. Oct. 19 at Walsingham Park, 12620 102nd Ave., Largo. Call (727) 535-5008.
