BENITO MIDDLE: Students, parents, faculty and staff will assemble a 300- by 87-foot plastic U.S. flag as a memorial to those who died in the Sept. 11 tragedy. BRYANT ELEMENTARY: Grandparents are invited to read to their grandchildren's classes on Friday. For information, call 356-1645.

CANNELLA ELEMENTARY: The School Advisory Council will meet at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday in the media center, 10707 Nixon Road.

Rio Bravo night is Friday and commemorates Cannella's 10th anniversary. The restaurant at 13001 N Dale Mabry Highway will donate 15 percent of sales made by Cannella parents, students and faculty from 2 p.m. to closing. Call 975-6941.

CHILES ELEMENTARY: The PTA dinner meeting is Thursday in the cafeteria, 16541 W Tampa Palms Blvd. Dinner, catered by the Olive Garden, will be served at 5:30 p.m. The meeting starts at 6:30. Call 558-5422.

Parents are invited to observe the Sept. 11 anniversary with a celebration of patriotism from 8:15 to 8:45 a.m. in the courtyard. The ceremony will include patriotic songs and the Pledge of Allegiance.

DAVIDSEN MIDDLE: The school will join Westchase Elementary for Flags Along Linebaugh on Sept. 11. Led by eighth-grade drummers, students, faculty and staff will march up Montague Street to Linebaugh Avenue, where they will meet up with Westchase Elementary. Both schools will then line the street from Sheldon Road to Gretna Green Drive and wave American flags in honor of those who died in the Sept. 11 attacks. Call 558-5300.

The school will recognize the Sept. 11 anniversary at an outdoor assembly at 8:30 a.m. Students, staff, faculty and parents will recite the Pledge of Allegiance, sing patriotic songs and present firefighters of Fire Station No. 21 with equipment bought with contributions from the community.

MANISCALCO ELEMENTARY: The school at 939 Debuel Road will host Curriculum Night Sept. 9. The parents-only meeting will address grade level expectations and benchmarks, individual classroom procedures and the new report card.
