Man dies after shooting during fight at partyBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published September 2, 2002 TAMPA -- A 25-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday night after getting into a fight at a party, sheriff's officials said. Gregory Smith was shot in the torso while standing outside a residence in the Park Place Apartments, 3132 W Lambright Ave., about 11:40 p.m. He ran to the car of an acquaintance, who drove him to University Community Hospital. Smith, whose address was not released by police, was later transferred to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he died. Upon investigating, deputies arrested Cheo Mann Narine, 17, of 9807 Temple St. in Tampa. He was charged with second-degree murder and taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
