Griffin, son of Carol and James Alan Griffin of St. Petersburg, has completed basic training at Fort Benning Army Reserve in Georgia. He will serve in the reserve unit at 73rd Field Hospital, St. Petersburg, after he completes field medic training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Griffin is a 2000 graduate of Boca Ciega High School's Center for Wellness and Medical Professions. He will resume his education at the University of South Florida when he completes his Army training. Navy Lt. Cmdr. Frederick L. Facyson, son of Mitchell J. Facyson of St. Petersburg, has departed on a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and Arabian Gulf while assigned to Sea Control Squadron 30 aboard the aircraft carrier USS George Washington. His home port is Norfolk, Va. Facyson graduated from the University of Florida in 1989 and earned a master's of business administration from Troy State University in Alabama in 1998. He joined the Navy after graduating from Lakewood High School in 1982. Airman Michael Boss, son of Cookie and Jim Boss of Madeira Beach, graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas. He will study signals intelligence at Fort Huachuca near Tucson, Ariz., until November, when he will be assigned to Corry Naval Air Station in the Panhandle to complete technical training. Boss is a 2000 graduate of Seminole High School. Navy Reserve Petty Officer 1st Class Keith J. Galvagni, son of Henriette M. and Victor J. Galvagni of Gulfport, has left on a six-month deployment to Rota, Spain, while assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Seven. His home port is Gulfport, Miss. Galvagni joined the Navy Reserve in October 1979. Navy Midshipman Bradley W. Snyder, son of Valarie J. and Michael W. Snyder of St. Petersburg, has completed six weeks of U.S. Naval Academy Indoctrination in Annapolis, Md. He will begin four years of preparation for an officer's commission.
