DARYL JONES, 47, is a native of Jackson, Miss., who has lived in Miami since 1981. He graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy and earned his law degree at the University of Miami. For 10 years he has served in the state Senate and was the Democratic leader pro tempore from 2000 to the last legislative session. He is active in Miami-Dade County schools and serves on the Federal Express Orange Bowl committee. He is married and has three children. ASSETS: Real estate, mutual funds and partnerships. BILL MCBRIDE, 57, was born in Illinois and grew up in Leesburg. He lives in Thonotosassa. He graduated from the University of Florida. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, served two tours of duty in Vietnam and was awarded the Bronze Star with a combat V. He later earned his law degree at UF. He served as managing partner of Holland & Knight from 1992 until 2001. He has been active in the United Way and the Florida Chamber of Commerce. He is married to Alex Sink, former president of Bank of America Florida. They have two children. ASSETS: Real estate, citrus groves. LIABILITIES: Mortgages on real estate. JANET RENO, 64, is a Miami native. She graduated from Cornell University and earned her law degree from Harvard. In 1978, she was appointed Miami-Dade state's attorney. She was re-elected five times. In 1993, President Clinton appointed her U.S. attorney general, making her the first woman to hold that job. She is single. ASSETS: Real estate, cash, state and federal pension funds.
