LARGO -- A 22-year-old woman was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash on Ulmerton Road on Thursday evening. The woman, whose name was not available, was pulling out of Monterey Lakes Apartments, 7501 Ulmerton Road, about 4:27 p.m. when she was struck by another vehicle. The woman, driving a Pontiac Sunbird, tried to turn left onto eastbound Ulmerton Road, Largo police said. The woman had two young girls, believed to be her daughters, in the car with her. A 1-year-old girl in the car had no visible injuries, while another girl, believed to be about 4 or 5, suffered minor injuries, police said. Both children were taken by ambulance to Bayfront Medical Center, where their mother was taken by helicopter. The driver of the other vehicle was not seriously injured, police said. Ulmerton Road was closed Thursday evening as police investigated the crash.
