DUNNELLON -- An employee of the Walgreens pharmacy was arrested Friday on charges of taking drugs from the pharmacy.
Susan Arlene Merenda, of 7724 N Gulf Point, Dunnellon, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, hydrocone, and retail theft.
She was arrested after the store manager installed a videotape system to track missing drugs from the store.
The arrest report states that after learning of the taping, Merenda told the manager she took the hydrocone, which is a powerful painkiller also called Oxycontin. When she was arrested, a deputy found 56 hydrocone tablets in a bottle in her purse, reports said.
Her bail was set at $5,250.
