LEALMAN -- The firefighters union has endorsed Kathleen Quinn Litton for re-election to the Lealman Fire Commission.

LEALMAN -- The firefighters union has endorsed Kathleen Quinn Litton for re-election to the Lealman Fire Commission.

"She's supported their issues over the last couple of years and was very proactive in the American Assembly," union leader Rick Feinberg said. "She's got her fingers on the pulse" of Lealman.

This is the second time the union has endorsed Litton. The union is composed of firefighters from St. Petersburg and Lealman. About 40 of its members are from Lealman.

Feinberg said the Lealman firefighters approached the union in late August to say they wanted to endorse Litton.

Litton, 45, has served on the Lealman Fire Commission since 1996.

She is a native of Detroit. She works for the Post Office. She is married and has two children.

She is facing a challenge from political newcomer John G. Frank in the Nov. 5 election.
