Florida quarterback Rex Grossman on Miami:
"They kept giving us the opportunity to come back and we didn't take it. They're the better team right now. They're the defending national champions, ranked No. 1, came in here and beat us up pretty good."
Free safety Todd Johnson, on the rivalry:
"I think we were in the game most of the time. The score kind of makes it look worse than it was. They were nervous. They know we can play with them and we can beat them."
Tight end Aaron Walker:
"Everybody wants to be the best in Florida. We had that opportunity tonight but it didn't happen for us. It's early in the season. We still have our SEC play to go. If we win out from here we'll be in good shape."
Offensive lineman Shannon Snell, on coach Ron Zook:
"He came in here and took over a program that had coach (Steve) Spurrier leaving and he's done a great job with it. The breaks didn't go our way tonight. The ball didn't bounce into our court. That happens sometimes. As bad as it is, as bad as it feels, it happens that way."
Kicker Matt Leach:
"I'm real frustrated right now. We've just got to work through it though, the three of us (snapper, holder and kicker) I guess. The extra point, that just kills me. I've missed two, and that's more than I've missed in my career, and that's the last two games."
Zook, on his team's outlook:
"What I told our football team is this: You know that's a good football team there. The thing that makes me feel good is obviously we have a lot of work to do. I think our players have done everything we've asked them to do since I've been here and they will continue to do the things that we ask them to do."
