Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Daryl D. James, son of Arlene James of St. Petersburg and the late David James, is finishing a six-month deployment to Spain and Lithuania as a member of the Seabees 7th Battalion. He will return to his home port of Gulfport, Miss., upon completion of the deployment.

A 1995 graduate of Dixie Hollins High, he joined the Navy Seabees in January 1999.

Marine Corps Pfc. Terrence E. Nemeth, son of Nancy and Ed Nemeth of St. Petersburg, completed a towed artillery course with Marine Corps Detachment, Army Ordinance Center and School, Aberdeen Providing Ground in Maryland.

A 2001 graduate of Northeast High School, Nemeth joined the Marine Corps in January 2002.

Justin K. Gaddis, son of Diane and John Gaddis of St. Petersburg and grandson of Nadine and Richard Webb of Pinellas Park, graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard training facility at Cape May, N.J., as a seaman fireman's apprentice. He reported for duty aboard the USCGC Sherman in Alameda, Calif.

Gaddis attended Lakewood High School and received his diploma in 2001.

Marine Corps Pfc. Kip M. Cashman, son of Lynn M. and Michael F. Cashman of Seminole, completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. He is a 1995 graduate of Admiral Farragut Academy.

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Charles N. Hale, son of Florence P. Herren of Seminole, has returned from a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and Arabian Gulf while assigned to the guided missile cruiser USS Hue City. His home port is Mayport.

Hale joined the Navy following his graduation from Seminole High School in 1997.

Airman 1st Class Brian Scott Curp, son of Rhonda and Greg Curp of St. Petersburg, is completing duty at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla. He will report for duty at Osan Air Force Base in South Korea.

Curp completed basic training in 2000 at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He completed technical school as an honor graduate specializing in satellite communications in 2001 from Fort Gordon Army Post, Augusta, Ga.

He is a 1996 graduate of Lakewood High School.
