For the most part, the streets of Hernando County were quiet Wednesday, authorities said.
Neither the Sheriff's Office nor the Brooksville Police Department investigated any suspicious incidents relating to Sept. 11, authorities said. Sheriff Richard Nugent sent additional deputies to patrol the Hernando County Government Center and the county's only mosque.
Lt. Joe Paez of the Sheriff's Office said deputies did not have any problems. Eddie McConnell, crime prevention officer for the city, said patrol shifts unfolded as usual.
"It's been very quiet," McConnell said.
