An unlucky combination
Do you need proof that Friday the 13th is an unlucky day? Consider the fact that alleged comedian Tom Green is starring in another movie, Stealing Harvard, opening on that day. The most obnoxiously untalented person in show biz -- even Anna Nicole Smith seems vital next to him -- hopes everyone has forgotten about the garbage known as Freddy Got Fingered that he inflicted upon audiences last year. Green plays Duff, a tree trimmer who probably needs to be reminded which end of the chainsaw to grab. Duff's best friend John (Jason Lee) is in a bind: He promised long ago to pay his niece's first year of tuition and now the debt is due, and higher than expected since she's going to Harvard. Duff encourages his pal to embark on a series of wacky crimes to finance her freshman year. Stealing Harvard is directed by Bruce McCulloch, a former member of The Kids in the Hall comedy troupe.
