Police reportsBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published September 14, 2002 Gunman takes bag of cash from Arby's on SR 54 NEW PORT RICHEY -- A man with a gun robbed an Arby's restaurant Thursday night, Pasco County sheriff's deputies said. The man entered the restaurant, 7125 State Road 54, about 9:45 p.m., got a cup of ice water, went to the restroom and then walked into the kitchen and pointed a revolver at three employees, a sheriff's report says. The man ordered the shift manager to give him money. She handed the man a black bag with an undisclosed amount of cash, and the robber ran away. Deputies were investigating Friday. Deputies: Woman abused boy while she was drunkA New Port Richey woman was arrested Thursday after Pasco County sheriff's deputies said she abused a 15-year-old boy while she was drunk. The boy is a hemophiliac. Joan Darlene Catrett, 40, of 3814 Lenkwood St. faces a charge of child abuse, deputies said. According to a deputy's report, Catrett chased the boy around the house, threw him against a sliding glass door, pushed him to the floor, kicked him and stepped on his neck to choke him. She was released Thursday from the county jail in Land O'Lakes after posting $1,000 bail. Deputies arrest man on Lee County warrantHOLIDAY -- A 26-year-old man was arrested Thursday on a Lee County warrant for lewd and lascivious act charges, Pasco County sheriff's deputies said. Michael John Herman of 3744 Beacon Square Drive was released Friday from the county jail in Land O'Lakes after posting $5,000 bail. Details of the charges were not available Friday. Zephyrhills man faces DUI charges after crashNEW PORT RICHEY -- A man involved in a Thursday morning crash on State Road 54 east of Madison Avenue faces charges of driving under the influence, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said. Dale Joseph Schepman, 52, of 3350 Trish Drive in Zephyrhills faces charges of DUI serious bodily injury and DUI property damage, troopers said. Before 7 a.m., Schepman's 1992 Ford Explorer collided with a Chevrolet. At least two people, including a child, suffered injuries in the crash, but the trooper report does not provide information about who was injured or the severity of the injuries. Schepman was taken to the county jail in Land O'Lakes, where he was being held Friday in lieu of $10,000 bail. Boyfriend is arrested after woman is injuredNEW PORT RICHEY -- A 27-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after his girlfriend suffered minor cuts and said he came after her with a knife, according to a Pasco County sheriff's report. After the man was taken to a deputy's cruiser, he ran away, the report states. A deputy recaptured him. Jason L. Boone of 9021 Mango St. faces charges of aggravated domestic battery and escape, the report says. Deputies said he also faces additional, unrelated charges on which he had been out of jail on bail at the time of his arrest. He was being held Friday at the county jail in Land O'Lakes in lieu of $13,013 bail. Surveillance photo of robbery releasedPasco County sheriff's investigators have released a surveillance photo of an Aug. 22 armed robbery at a Circle K store in Hudson. A robber threatened to shoot a clerk and then took cash and cigarettes from the store, 12838 U.S. 19. The clerk said the man told her he was dying of AIDS and wanted all of the money from the register, the report says. The man told the clerk he had a gun and lifted his shirt. She said she saw what appeared to be the outline of a semiautomatic pistol. The suspect is about 5 feet 10 and weighs 160 pounds.
