Letters to the EditorsSafety, peace every neighbor's wish© St. Petersburg Times published September 15, 2002 Editor: In your (Sept. 13) column you refer to speed bumps on Hudson Lane "... which protect these people against speeders. Or keep the riffraff out. You decide." Coincidentally, the answer is a few pages further in North of Tampa in an article that discusses the legitimate concerns of residents of Jackson Springs Road about speeders, and the effort to get speed bumps placed on their street. Why is it so difficult to understand people's desire for safety and peace and quiet in their neighborhoods? Have you joined Mary Jo Melone on the ever-vigilant Snob Patrol? Why cast aspersions and stir up trouble where there is none, when there are so many real issues to bring to people's attention, such as reasons for voting? Candace Bowers, Bay Port Colony
