CARDINALS: Thomas Jones, the No.7 pick in 2000, ran for 173 yards against Seattle. In 31 previous starts, his high was 70.

COWBOYS: Emmitt Smith had 59 yards and is 414 from becoming the NFL's career rushing leader. He was stuffed twice on third and 1, though.

FALCONS: T.J. Duckett didn't play in the second half after gaining 32 yards on five carries in the first. "There's no doubt we need to get him more involved," coach Dan Reeves said.

49ERS: Starting with consecutive false starts on Terrell Owens during its first drive, the team committed 10 penalties for 114 yards.

GIANTS: Kerry Collins had his fifth consecutive 300-yard passing game and can tie the record shared by Steve Young and Kurt Warner on Sunday against Seattle. The Giants went without a 300-yard game from Nov.28, 1993, when Phil Simms did it against the Cardinals, until Dec.5, 1999, when Collins did it against the Jets. ... Jeremy Shockey, the team's first-round pick, caught his first touchdown and finished with four catches for 50 yards.

LIONS: The team lost its 10th consecutive road game. Sunday, it allowed six sacks and gained 122 total yards.

PACKERS: Brett Favre's two touchdown passes moved him past Johnny Unitas (290) and tied him with Warren Moon (291) for fourth on the career list. ... Eight busloads of Favre fans made the one-hour trip from his hometown of Kiln, Miss., to cheer him on.

PANTHERS: The team has doubled its victory total from last season and is 2-0 for the first time since 1996. ... Julius Peppers, the second pick of April's draft, recorded the first three sacks of his career.

RAMS: The team had 352 total yards, well below its league-leading average of 442 last season. It is averaging 18.5 points, down from 31.4 last season.

SAINTS: The team is 13-23 in home openers but has won four of its past five. ... The game was the 15th consecutive sellout.

SEAHAWKS: A year after rushing for 1,318 yards, the sixth-highest total in the league, Shaun Alexander had his second straight lackluster game with 37 yards on 17 carries. In Week 1, he had 36 yards on 13 carries. ... Offensive tackle Floyd Womack left in the first quarter with a broken bone in his left hand. He returned with his hand and forearm in a cast.

VIKINGS: Randy Moss had 111 receiving yards, moving him into sixth on the team's all-time list with 5,489. Cris Carter is first with 11,512.
