ST. PETERSBURG -- The Florida Department of Transportation has changed and lengthened the hours for the full closure of the northbound lanes of the Sunshine Skyway bridge next weekend.

DOT said on Monday that both northbound lanes would be closed from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday. But on Tuesday, the closure was amended to run from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. Through the rest of this week there will be overnight single lane closures northbound, but they should not disrupt traffic.

During the full closure, northbound and southbound traffic will alternate using the southbound lanes. To avoid delays, motorists should use a route that does not involve the bridge.
