TAMPA -- The man who robbed a U-Save Supermarket on Wednesday is the same bandit who held up a bank and a grocery store earlier in the week, authorities said.

The robber hit the Bank of America on Hyde Park Avenue on Monday, the Joy Food Store on N. Himes Avenue on Tuesday and the U-Save on Henderson Boulevard on Wednesday, said Tampa police spokesman Joe Durkin.

During all three robberies, the man gave employees a note demanding money or implied that he was armed.

Witnesses described the man as white with brown hair and a moustache, weighing 160 pounds and being about 5 feet 6. He uses a newer model black Jeep Cherokee as his getaway car.

Anyone with information about the robber should call Tampa Police detective Mark Dinsmore at 276-3600 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-873-8477.
