ZEPHYRHILLS -- When U.S. Postal Service officials needed a new postmaster for Zephyrhills, they brought back an old hand who got his start on Pasco County's west side.

Tom Testa officially became the 15th postmaster of Zephyrhills this month. Testa brings more than 29 years of postal experience to the job. He began his career as a clerk in Elfers, where he earned his first promotion to postmaster. Since then he has served as postmaster in Thonotosassa and most recently was postmaster of Safety Harbor. He served as the officer in charge of the Zephyrhills post office since February.

"Customer service and satisfaction is my No. 1 goal," Testa said in a news release. "I look forward to continuing the excellent service provided by the Zephyrhills office."

The Zephyrhills post office has been serving the community since Feb. 2, 1888, with the appointment of its first postmaster, Amanda M. Isaacs. Testa and his wife, Marie, have two children, daughter Kristina, a graduate of the University of South Florida, and son Casey, who attends St. Petersburg College. When he is not taking care of postal business, Testa likes to play golf and care for his two Doberman pinschers.
