Florida's early waterfowl season begins Saturday and runs through Wednesday. During this short period, hunters can shake off some of the rust from a long summer, but there are limitations.
Only blue-winged teal, green-winged teal and wood ducks are legal during this time. In some portions of Lake Seminole in Jackson County, it is legal to bag Canada geese. The four-duck daily bag limit may consist of no more than two wood ducks. The possession limit for ducks is eight. Shooting hours during the early season are one-half hour before sunrise to sunset.
