A 13-year-old boy was arrested at West Hernando Middle School on Friday afternoon after he pushed two people, police said.
The sixth-grader was charged with two counts of battery of a school employee, a felony, according to the arrest affidavit. Teacher Beverly Bushell and school employee Lyndell Hudson told police the student became agitated after an argument in the classroom. The student walked out of the class, and when Bushell and later Hudson attempted to stop him, he pushed both of them, the report said.
He was taken to Hernando County jail about 3:30 p.m. and released to his family less than two hours later.
