HIGHS

HIGHS

DEWON BRAZELTON: In two outings, the Rays rookie right-hander has proven to be solid, effective and well-hydrated. A good sign for the future.

COWBOYS: All you America's Team haters, look away. After becoming the league's laughingstock in Week 1 with its loss to the expansion Texans, the 'Boys came back in Week 2 and stunned the mighty Titans. How about them ... okay, we just can't bring ourselves to go that far.

SUZY WHALEY: The 35-year-old Connecticut teaching pro and mother won the state's PGA section championship, earning the chance to make history by playing in next year's Greater Hartford Open. We hope she goes for it.

MIKE RYAN: The Twins rookie got his first major-league hit in the first inning against the Tigers ... and his second hit in the first inning as well ...

LOWS

MIKE RYAN: ... and the game was rained out after one inning, washing away his debut performance.

OUT-OF-CONTROL FANS: Painting your face is one thing. Attacking a coach from behind is another. The father-son duo that charged Royals first-base coach Tom Gamboa from behind Thursday night need some serious time on the couch and maybe a little behind bars.
