By Times staff writer St. Petersburg woman charged in May robberyA 40-year-old St. Petersburg woman was arrested Monday and charged with the May armed robbery of a New Port Richey convenience store, police said. Kathleen Marie Clark, 40, of 3937 Park Blvd., Lot No. 1A, was charged with armed robbery, according to an arrest warrant for the woman. The warrant documents state that on May 19 at about 6 a.m. Clark entered the Cumberland Farms store at 7529 U.S. 19 armed with a revolver and stole $90. New Port Richey police identified her based on surveillance pictures and witness descriptions of her and her car. Clark, who also faces a charge of failing to appear in court on an unrelated charge, was being held Tuesday in lieu of $50,513 bail at county jail in Land O'Lakes. Roommate arrested on beating man with ceiling fanHUDSON -- A 22-year-old man was arrested Monday and faces charges in the beating of his roommate with a ceiling fan, Pasco County sheriff's deputies said. The roommate told deputies that early Monday morning David William Nielsen punched him in the face, tried to strangle him, pulled down a ceiling fan and hit him in the forehead with the fan, according to a deputy report. Nielsen of 7703 Gulf Way in Hudson faces a charge aggravated battery, deputies said. The roommate, whose name was not released, went to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point with bruises, scrapes and a cut on his forehead that required 11 stitches, the report states. Nielsen -- who faces other minor, unrelated charges -- posted $10,286 bail on Monday and was released from county jail in Land O'Lakes. Regency Park residents report rash of car burglariesPORT RICHEY -- Seven Regency Park residents reported their vehicles broken into overnight Sunday, according to Pasco County sheriff's deputies. Most -- if not all -- of the vehicles were unlocked, sheriff's reports state. The residents live on Castanea Drive, Heath Drive and Prosperity Lane. They said they were missing stereo equipment, change, jewelry and wallets, the reports state. Deputies were investigating on Tuesday. With stolen phone, man calls owner's friend for moneyPORT RICHEY -- A 40-year-old man was arrested Monday after Pasco County sheriff's deputies said he broke into a truck, stole a cellular phone, called a friend of the phone's owner and said he would give back the phone for $10 to $20, a sheriff's report states. Charles Henry Casler of 15418 Omaha St. in Hudson faces a charge of burglary/vehicle, the report states. Deputies said he stole a wallet and phone from a truck in Port Richey Village Apartments. Less than 30 minutes later, the report states, he called a friend of the man who was burglarized. The friend notified the the man, and the man went with a deputy to meet Casler at Walgreens, 9442 U.S. 19. Casler told the deputy that the phone must have fallen from the man's truck and that he didn't ask for money to return it, the report states. Casler posted $5,000 bail and was released Monday from county jail in Land O'Lakes.
