MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota receiver Randy Moss was arrested Tuesday after being accused of bumping a traffic-control agent with his car.
The agent tried to stop Moss from making an illegal turn, and Moss used his car to slowly push the officer a half block, stopping when she fell to the ground, police spokeswoman Cyndi Barrington said.
Barrington said the agent, a city employee but not a police officer, was not seriously hurt.
Moss was in jail on suspicion of assault with a dangerous weapon, a felony. Barrington said the county attorney would consider charges today, and it was unclear if Moss would post bail Tuesday night.
Also, linebacker Antonio Wilson was re-signed to fill in for Henri Crockett, who will miss 4-6 weeks with an elbow injury. Rookie wide receiver Kelly Campbell was released to make room for Wilson.
49ERS: Rookie Brandon Moore, an undrafted free agent who briefly made the team after training camp, re-signed. Rookie tight end Mark Anelli, a sixth-round pick from Wisconsin, was waived.
BEARS: Defensive tackle Ernest Grant, who played last season with Miami, signed a two-year deal. Terms were not disclosed.
COLTS: Defensive back Rodregis Brooks and tight end Jermaine Wiggins were waived, and free-agent safety Joe Walker was signed.
EAGLES: Safety Rashard Cook will miss at least two games after surgery on his right knee. Starting center Hank Fraley signed a five-year contract extension. Also, a Philadelphia police officer who filed a lawsuit claiming running back Brian Mitchell assaulted her is suing running back Duce Staley. Karen Haley said Staley ruined her reputation by claiming she harassed him.
PACKERS: Running back Maurice "Moe" Smith, signed as a free agent when offensive tackle Mark Tauscher was injured, was waived.
RAMS: Marshall Faulk appears to have strained ligaments in his neck and is questionable for Sunday's game against Dallas. Faulk will have more tests to determine the extent of the injury. Outside linebacker Tommy Polley (torn groin) and cornerback Dexter McCleon (torn hamstring) will miss about three weeks.
REDSKINS: Coach Steve Spurrier said he will use the bye week to decide if rookie quarterback Patrick Ramsey will start. Shane Matthews started the first three, but Washington averaged 198 yards offensively the past two losses after totaling 442 in the Week 1 win. Ramsey, a first-round pick out of Tulane, completed 17-of-34 for 219 yards and two touchdowns in the preseason.
TEXANS: Cornerback Aaron Glenn signed an extension. Offensive lineman Chad Overhauser was signed to the practice squad.
