In reality TV ...

Network TV offered a double whammy of reality show developments Wednesday, with a winner for CBS's Big Brother 3 chosen in the same hour as ABC revealed the identity of the man who will choose a fiancee from 25 women for its new season of The Bachelor.

Lisa Donahue, a 26-year-old bartender from Los Angeles, was revealed as Big Brother's winner, earning $500,000 after spending three months isolated in a house with 11 other contestants. Ten houseguests previously ejected from the game chose the winner, with nine picking Donahue over Danielle Reyes, 30, a California-based media buyer who alienated many with her manipulations during the game.

ABC also announced the identity of their new Bachelor, a blonde man named Aaron (no last name given), who will choose a fiancee during the next several weeks.

The previous couple that emerged from ABC's first Bachelor season, Alex Michel and Amanda Marsh, denied rumors they had broken up -- though Marsh implied as much during a recent TV Guide interview, and both still live in different cities.

They also said their brief interview during Wednesday's debut would be their last public comments about their relationship.

Bass returns to training in Russia

Pop star Lance Bass is back at Russia's cosmonaut center for a new training session, despite being excluded from the crew of a rocket heading to the international space station next month.

The 'N Sync singer, who was ordered to leave the Star City cosmonaut training ground earlier this month after failing to pay for the trip, has returned to the center outside Moscow, said Yuri Nikiforov, general director of Atlas Airspace.

"He will not go in October for sure, but he just doesn't want to interrupt the program," Nikiforov said by telephone. He spoke after Russia's Interfax news agency quoted an unnamed official at Star City as saying officials there had decided Saturday to let Bass resume training.

New 'Rings' trailer to debut Monday on the Internet

The trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers will premiere on America Online on Monday at 12:01 a.m. Fans will be able to download images for the second film in the adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's fantasy trilogy. A day later, the trailer will appear on the movie's Web site.

The film, which features Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett and the rest of the cast from The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, is due in theaters Dec. 18. The trailer will start appearing in North American theaters Oct. 4 and will go worldwide through the month.

When the trailer for last year's Rings went online, it was downloaded an estimated 1.7-million times in the first 24 hours.
