Student charged with sexual battery

SPRING HILL -- A Central High School student was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexual battery of two children, the Hernando County Sheriff's Office reported.

Eighteen-year-old Carl Daniel Yeary of Lema Drive in Spring Hill allegedly had improper sexual contact with a boy under 12 and a girl older than 12 between Aug. 1 and 10. He faces a charge of capital sexual battery of the boy and a charge of sexual battery of the girl.

The names of the children are withheld because of their ages and the nature of the accusations. Yeary was being held without bail Wednesday at the Hernando County Jail.
