EAGLES: Defensive tackle Jeremy Slechta and safety Julian Jones were promoted from the practice squad. To make room on the 53-man roster, the team released quarterback A.J. Feeley and linebacker Tyreo Harrison. Both could be added to the practice squad today if they clear waivers. ... Returner Brian Mitchell has played in 179 consecutive games and is set to become the only player to play at least one game against all 32 clubs against the Texans on Sunday. ... The team will be without starting defensive tackle Corey Simon (ankle) and backup safeties Rashard Cook (knee) and Michael Lewis (hamstring) against Houston.

FALCONS: Linebacker Keith Brooking was fined $5,000 for taking off his helmet on the field during Sunday's 30-3 win over Cincinnati. Brooking also drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for removing his helmet after Bengals quarterback Jon Kitna threw a fourth-down incompletion in the fourth quarter.

GIANTS: For the first time since surgery on his right knee in January, center Dusty Zeigler appears ready to play. Zeigler worked out without apparent pain and there is a good chance the seven-year veteran will be active Sunday against the Cardinals. The decision will be made today or Saturday, coach Jim Fassel said.

LIONS: Running back Lamont Warren has an injured shoulder and will miss at least Sunday's game against New Orleans. He will be replaced by Richard Huntley, who was signed last week.

PACKERS: Running back Rondell Mealey was cut less than a week after his first start in the league. Mealey, a seventh-round draft pick in 2000, started for the injured Ahman Green against Detroit and had 7 yards on five carries and three receptions for 24 yards. Najeh Davenport got the bulk of the work Sunday against the Lions, rushing for 84 yards and catching four passes for 31 yards. "That was a tough call," coach and general manager Mike Sherman said of Mealey. "He's worked extremely hard. That was one of the toughest calls I've ever made."

RAMS: A simple reason St. Louis is 0-3: Kurt Warner has a rating of 69.5, 14th among starting quarterbacks in the conference and more than 30 points below his lifetime rating of 103. Warner has completed 70 percent of his passes but also has one touchdown and seven interceptions in three games, including four in Monday night's loss at Tampa Bay. He has thrown more touchdowns to opponents than teammates: Derrick Brooks of the Bucs and Jason Sehorn of the Giants each has returned a Warner interception for a score.
