This 'after you' may be polite, but is it nice?

A packed audience jostled for position during the Crystal River City Council meeting last week, with each person giving their 2 cents' worth on the controversial building height ordinance.

Two familiar figures rose at the same time: former Mayor Curtis Rich and Phil Kofmehl, owner of Charlie's Fish House. The ex-mayor deferred to the man in the front of the room.

"Age before beauty," Rich said.

Amid the laughter, Kofmehl replied, "He's probably right."
