Giuliani wedding on horizon

NEW YORK -- Rudolph Giuliani and his constant companion, Judith Nathan, will tie the knot -- soon.

"Judith and I are going to get married; we're just going to, kind of, keep it to ourselves, exactly how, when, where," the former New York City mayor said in an interview Wednesday on CNN's Larry King Live.

Asked whether the wedding would be soon, Giuliani told King: "I'll tell you when we're sitting in a Yankee game; I'll whisper it in your ear."

King pressed on: "But would you say "soon' is a good word?" Giuliani replied: "I think "soon' is a good word."

The 58-year-old ex-mayor finalized his divorce from Donna Hanover in July after 20 years of marriage. The settlement called for Giuliani to pay Hanover more than $6.8-million.

The couple has two teenage children, Andrew and Caroline. Under the divorce settlement, Hanover has residential custody and final decisionmaking authority over them.

Giuliani's first marriage, to his second cousin, Regina Peruggi, lasted about 14 years. Peruggi has said she and Giuliani "have a good relationship" and are "good friends."

Nathan, a 47-year-old registered nurse, divorced wallpaper salesman Bruce Nathan in 1992. The two have an 18-year-old daughter.

Giuliani and Nathan appeared in public together more than two years ago; the ex-mayor referred to her then as "a very good friend."

Also Wednesday, Giuliani began a national tour for his new book, Leadership. He signed copies of the book for four hours at a midtown store, where people stood in line for up to nine hours for the chance to meet him.
