Herd shakes off early INTs for win
KENT, Ohio -- Byron Leftwich overcame two early interceptions and threw four touchdowns, leading Marshall to a 42-21 win over Kent State on Saturday.
Leftwich was 31-for-45 for 377 yards.
Quarterback Joshua Cribbs rushed for three touchdowns for Kent State. He gained a career-high 199 yards on 22 carries and was 12-for-19 for 145 yards and two interceptions. Marshall outgained Kent State 645-407.
AIR FORCE 48, NAVY 7: Chance Harridge rushed for 161 yards and scored two of his four touchdowns in the host Falcons' 21-point second quarter. Air Force (5-0) is off to its best start since opening the 1997 season 7-0. The Falcons have won six straight against the Midshipmen.
FORDHAM 41, GEORGETOWN 10: Javarus Dudley caught seven passes for 224 yards and three TDs as the visiting Rams got their 700th win. Fordham is the fifth Division I-AA team, and first non-Ivy League school, to win 700.
YALE 28, HOLY CROSS 19: Robert Carr scored a touchdown and rushed for his second straight 200-yard game for the Bulldogs. The sophomore tailback had 219 yards on 38 carries. Carr rushed for 235 against Cornell last weekend.
R.I. 38, BROWN 28: Jayson Davis rushed for 194 yards and three touchdowns for host Rhode Island. Kyle Slager was 44-for-59 for a Brown record 497 yards.
DUQUESNE 23, LAFAYETTE 22: Earl Bellisario's 24-yard field goal with 10 seconds left likely preserved the host Dukes' No. 1 ranking in Division I-AA. Quarterback Niel Loebig set Duquesne records with 54 pass attempts and 29 completions.
LEHIGH 36, HARVARD 35: Jermaine Pugh's 6-yard TD run with 48 seconds left capped a 15-point, fourth-quarter comeback for the host.
DAYTON 41, BUTLER 0: Tony Hurps rushed for 110 yards and two TDs for the host Flyers.
W. MICHIGAN 31, BUFFALO 17: Kendrick Mosley had two TDs for the visiting Buffalos.
PRINCETON 35, COLUMBIA 32: Jon Veach scored a pair of second-half touchdowns for the visiting Tigers.
MONTANA 38, IDAHO 31: John Edwards threw for 311 yards and two TDs for the visiting Grizzlies.
N. ILLINOIS 41, BALL ST. 29: Dan Sheldon returned a punt 64 yards for a TD for the visiting Huskies.

ARK. ST. 13, MTS 7: Cornerback Jonathan Burke returned an interception 33 yards for a TD against visiting Middle Tennessee State.
WOFFORD 27, CHATTANOOGA 21 (OT): Jesse McCoy scored on a 12-yard run in overtime for the host.
HAMPTON 44, DEL. ST. 13: Carlton Morant rushed for 143 yards and a TD for the visiting Pirates.
