A clerk at Hungry Howie's Pizza and Subs was shot Sunday night during a robbery.
Sheriff's Sgt. Alan Hill said the male clerk alerted authorities about 9:30 p.m. that he had been shot and robbed at the takeout store at 6207 E Hillsborough Ave.
He was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where his condition was not available late Sunday.
His name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
Authorities said the suspect fled on foot. He was wearing a ski mask, a red shirt and black pants and carrying a handgun.
