MUNICH, Germany -- Formula One head Bernie Ecclestone has a plan to slow five-time champion Michael Schumacher and prevent another runaway by Ferrari next season.
It includes the standings leader getting a kilogram handicap added to his car for every point lead held in the drivers' race.
"If Schumacher is 20 points ahead of Rubens Barrichello, then he has to drive with a car that's 20 kilos heavier," Ecclestone told the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag.
IRL CHAMPIONSHIP: Sam Hornish Jr. and his Pennzoil Panther Racing crew members received the Indy Racing League Cup and a $1-million bonus Saturday night in Chicago. The 23-year-old is the first two-time champion in series history.
