A NEW WRINKLE: Michelle Pfeiffer has heard about Patricia Heaton's Late Show with David Letterman implication that she has had plastic surgery, no matter how much she claims fear of body manipulation. Pfeiffer tells the New York Daily News: "I guess as long as people keep saying I have had plastic surgery, I can continue to put it off for a few more years."

HOW MUCH LESS CAN WE CARE: The Sept. 11 charity single that Michael Jackson put together last year is finally getting radio airplay. What More Can I Give, which includes appearances by Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Reba McEntire, is being played on WKTU-FM in New York City.

The single, recorded last October, hasn't been released, and stories vary as to why. Jackson blamed his record company, Sony, for holding on to it because of a contract dispute. The Los Angeles Times reported in July that Jackson's aides asked Sony to bury the single after they found out that its producer, F. Marc Schaffel, was in the gay pornography business.

WKTU program director Frankie Blue, a good friend of Jackson's, has been coy in interviews about how he got a copy of the single. "Let's just say that a friend of a friend of a friend gave it to me," he told msnbc.com.

Blue says listener reaction "has been incredibly, overwhelmingly positive" and he hopes that other radio stations will "steal" the song from WKTU and play it, too.

There has been no public response from Sony.

ANOTHER BLOW FOR MEDICAL SHOWS ABOUT DOCTORS IN SAN FRANCISCO: The five most popular new TV shows among people who have TiVo, which allows people to record programs to a hard drive for later viewing: CBS's CSI: Miami and Without a Trace, and Fox's Firefly, John Doe and Push, Nevada.

TiVo based its conclusion, which Reuters reported, on the number of users who have configured their recorder to automatically record every episode of a show.
