All aboard, model train aficionados
H&R Trains in Pinellas Park draws enthusiasts year-round, but for three days every October and March, the venerable store on U.S. 19 unleashes a railroading extravaganza.
Under giant tents, there will be train layouts of all sorts, including Michael LaDrigue's Z scale display, which he is carefully setting up, above. The annual competition begins at 6 p.m. Friday. Representatives from Brio, Playmobil, Bachmann, Badger Airbrush and more will be on hand. How-to seminars, special sales and prize giveaways will take place all weekend.
The show runs 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the store, 6901 U.S. 19 N, Pinellas Park. (727) 526-4682 or www.hrtrains.com.
