This week's winner: Wow! What a huge response to last week's Stevie Ray Vaughan question. Lucky Patrick Woods of Palm Harbor was the randomly drawn player who knew that the late, great Vaughan declined an offer to tour as guitarist for David Bowie back in 1983. Bowie's offer was too cheap, and Vaughan was miffed because his virtuoso playing made a hit of Bowie's Let's Dance album.
This week's question: Rush performs in Tampa tonight. The Canadian trio has been making smart rock for three decades, scoring big in 1976 with the futuristic concept album 2112, with lyrics written by drummer Neil Peart based on the writings of an American philosopher and novelist. To enter your name in the random drawing for the Weekend T-shirt, name the writer who influenced Peart.
