LAKELAND -- Unfortunately for Indian Rocks Christian, Lakeland Santa Fe Catholic played its best game of the year Saturday and defeated the Golden Eagles 34-6.
The Crimson Hawks (2-4) capitalized on a muffed punt in the first quarter when quarterback Tommy Callahan scored from the 1-yard line on a fourth-down play. Callahan added two touchdown passes to put the game away.
Shawn Williams and the Santa Fe defense harassed Indian Rocks quarterbacks Chris Holley and Mike Warner, who were sacked five times for a loss of more than 100 yards of offense.
The Golden Eagles (2-3) scored late when Houston Blackwell found the end zone on a 1-yard run with eight seconds to play.
