Election law complaint filed against candidateBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published October 18, 2002 CRYSTAL RIVER -- The husband of City Council member Kitty Ebert this week filed an election law complaint against mayoral candidate Ray Wallace. Scott Ebert notified the Florida Elections Commission that Wallace sent absentee voters a letter that was not identified as a paid political advertisement and didn't explain who paid for it or who approved it. Wallace has noted that a second piece of literature that accompanied the letter did include that information. "I thought that would cover it," Wallace said Thursday. Last year, Wallace's wife filed an election complaint against Ebert. The FEC agreed Ebert improperly documented her political advertisements and fined her $1. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • St. Petersburg Times
