Writer fined for driving recklesslyBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published October 18, 2002 St. Petersburg Times sportswriter Rick Stroud, who was arrested June 8 on charges of driving under the influence, pleaded guilty on Thursday to a lesser charge of reckless driving. He was fined $500 plus court costs and ordered to complete 100 hours of community service. Stroud, 42, of Palm Harbor, has worked for the Times for 19 years.
