St. Petersburg Times sportswriter Rick Stroud, who was arrested June 8 on charges of driving under the influence, pleaded guilty on Thursday to a lesser charge of reckless driving. He was fined $500 plus court costs and ordered to complete 100 hours of community service.

Stroud, 42, of Palm Harbor, has worked for the Times for 19 years. He has covered the Tampa Bay Buccaneers since 1990 and had previously worked in the Times' Clearwater and Pasco County offices.
