MINNEAPOLIS -- Hall of Fame player Kirby Puckett was charged Friday with dragging a woman into a restaurant bathroom and grabbing her breast in September.
The woman had bruises and her ankle was swollen from hitting a door frame, according to the criminal complaint, which cited several witnesses.
The former Twins star was charged with a felony count of false imprisonment and a gross misdemeanor count of criminal sexual conduct.
If convicted the 41-year-old probably will be put on probation and given less than a year in the county workhouse, according to County Attorney Amy Klobuchar.
RED SOX: The most expensive tickets are going up in price. Boston, with the smallest stadium and second-highest payroll ($110,249,535) behind the Yankees ($133,429,757), announced plans for an overall 7 percent increase in ticket prices next season. The increase will affect about half of Fenway Park's 34,297 seats.
REDS: Outfielder Wily Mo Pena had surgery to repair his torn left hamstring. The 21-year-old was injured playing in the Arizona Fall League. He should be ready by spring training.
TIGERS: Bob Cluck was hired as pitching coach. The 56-year-old, who was the Rangers' minor-league pitching instructor last season, agreed to a three-year contract. He was pitching coach for Oakland in 1996-98 and Houston in 1990-93.
YANKEES: Pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre decided to put off retirement. He said in January that he would quit after this season. He was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer in 2000 and underwent stem-cell transplant treatment.
