Police seek suspect in shooting of motel clerkBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published October 21, 2002 TAMPA -- A motel clerk was shot Sunday night during a robbery at the Bay Inn in Tampa, police said. The robber walked into the lobby of the hotel at 2905 N 50th St. about 7:30 p.m. and pointed a gun at the clerk. She gave him a small amount of cash, then he shot her in the arm. The bullet went through her arm into her chest, police said. The clerk, Joan McClasky of Tampa, was taken to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Police were searching for the suspect Sunday night.
