Robbery victim shot, critically woundedBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published October 22, 2002 TAMPA -- An 18-year-old woman remained in critical condition Monday night after she was shot during a robbery about 6 p.m. at Desoto Park, near N 26th Street and E Corrine Street. Reports stated that Flora Garcia of Tampa was walking through the park when three people wearing black masks approached her and demanded her jewelry at gunpoint. Garcia complied, but the robbers still shot her four times, then fled, reports stated. No descriptions of them were released Monday night, and reports stated that there were "conflicting statements on how the offense occurred."
